Winds from the west of 80 km/h to 200 km/h, depending on altitude and exposure, are forecast to hit nearly all of the country. Only a few regions south of the Alps, such as Ticino, will be spared.
Swiss Meteo advises those affected to make sure anything that could blow away is firmly attached or put away and to ensure cars are not parked under or near trees. Some train services, such as the mountain train from Caux to Rochers-de-Naye, will not run, according to Le Matin.
In addition, heavy snow and rain is forecast for some regions.
