From a North American perspective, the ad seems effective to me.

And from a European one as well!

Something should be done about the way the Swiss drive. It is as if they escape the restraints of a very controlled society, the minute they are behind the wheel. Tailgating, aggressive, dangerous, incompetent (too fast in inappropriate situations), overtaking in insane situations in face of oncoming traffic. Trucks driving at totally unsafe speeds. Have never seen the police regulating any of the the above. Talking on mobiles is only one of the problems. Police should regulate and also educate the Swiss motoring public regarding above behaviour as a priority, maybe even before speeding and mobile behaviour.

Hi Weeber,
I agree the standard of driving in Switzerland sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. However, just because a car has Swiss plates doesn’t mean the driver is Swiss.

Agreed, but surely the majority probably are? Also of course not all Swiss drivers fall into the criticised category, and furthermore my criticism is obviously subjective to my own experience, but despite all of this, I still feel that the comment has some validity.

Your comment is valid. If the law of averages were to apply you would be right (and possibly you are). It is only the bad drivers that people notice and not the good ones, so a few bad ones create a disproportionatly poor impression.
