One of Geneva Airport’s car parks will temporarily close up to half its parking spaces.
The park P26, which is under Halle 7 of the Palexpo exhibition centre, is undergoing renovation work which starts in April 2019 and is expected to last until June 2020, according a press release.
The car park is getting its first renovation since it opened in 1993. The work is aimed at stopping the premature aging of the reinforced concrete and improving water drainage.
Renovation starts on the first level, progressing to the second level in December 2019 and then the third in January 2020, with planned completion in June 2020.
The work will affect 300 people with carpark membership, who will instead be given access to parks P41, P45 and P46, reducing space in these parks.
Excluding reservable car parks, Geneva airport has around 5,000 car parking spaces. In 2018, 17.7 million passengers passed through the airport, 1.9% more than in 2017.
