On 21 June 2018, the pope will be at the Palexpo convention centre next to Geneva Airport.
Because of this and the security accompanying it the airport warns that “access to the airport is not guaranteed” and recommends avoiding it unless absolutely necessary.
The airport says that road access and parking will be very heavily restricted. Parks P1, P26 and P51 will be reserved exclusively for those with flight tickets, however there is still no guarantee of a park.
If it is not possible to fly on a different date, the airport recommends arriving 3 hours before flight departure, taking public transport, preferably the train, checking to see if flight times have changed, printing boarding passes at home, and if possible, checking in luggage ahead of time.
