A survey by the newspaper 20 Minuten, shows more men (50%) feel discriminated against than women (40%). In particular men think society places excessive demands on them.

The online survey done between 4 and 6 April 2017, received 6,889 responses from readers in German-speaking Switzerland. The responses were then weighted by experts to bring them as close as possible to a cross-section of the Swiss population.
While a clear majority of respondents (83%) think that discrimination exists between the sexes, there are differences when the results are split by gender. Only 40% of women feel discriminated against compared to 50% of men. The percentage of men who feel discrimination rises to 62% among those aged between 35 and 49. Particular areas where men feel discrimination are their rights as fathers (38%), the military (24%) and the demands placed on them by society (62%).
According to Martha Weingartner, a gender equality expert in Zurich, men are more sensitive to discrimination than women. In recent years in Switzerland, there has been significant political activity around improving the rights of fathers to access their children when marriages fall apart.
