The only cantons close to majorities were Geneva (47.7%), Neuchâtel (46.2%) and Basel-City (46.5%).
In Geneva the law restricting restricting religious clothing in public office was accepted by 55% of voters, while initiatives to introduce compulsory dental insurance, funded by deducting a percentage of salaries, and another to create a public health insurer were rejected by 55% and 56% respectively. All three of these votes showed a similar voting pattern. 12 communes in the centre of the city, and the commune of Avully on the outskirts, all voted against the majority on all initiatives.
