The new airline PowdAir, which plans to base itself at Sion airport in the canton of Valais in Switzerland and start flying in December 2017, recently announced plans to fly an Airbus A 319 instead of the smaller Fokker 100.
According to Swiss broadcaster RTS, the new airline plans to use a single aircraft to fly between the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands, over the winter starting next ski season.
The Fokker 100 seats 100 passengers, while the Airbus A319 can accommodate up to 160 seats. In a Facebook post the company said: “We will now be using an Airbus A319 with 144 seats instead of the Fokker 100 – demand and support is fantastic – leading to improving aircraft capability to serve the routes.”

The company plans to fly between Southend, Southampton, Bournemouth, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Rotterdam, Brussels, and Sion.
According to various sources, fares range from £99 and £150.
