The newspaper 24Heures offers advice on how to get to sleep with current high temperatures. Fortunately nighttime is cooler than daytime, however temperatures will still be well above 20 degrees Celsius at nights. Here is what you can do to make yourself more comfortable:
1. Dampen your curtains – before sleeping dampen your curtains and leave the window open. The evaporating water will cool the air.
2. Put your pillow in the refrigerator – make sure your fridge is clean though
3. Place your mattress on the floor – lowering your mattress places you further from the hot air near the ceiling
4. Turn off electrical appliances (not your fridge and freezer!) – televisions, computers, and light bulbs all emit heat
