Euro 2016 – UEFA football.
While Switzerland had impressive match statistics, the team failed to turn their dominance into goals. In Wednesday evening’s match against Romania, the Swiss were in possession of the ball for 61% of the game and achieved 86% passing accuracy.
Romania scored a penalty in the first half after a shirt pulling incident, and only 1 of Switzerland’s 19 goal attempts resulted in a goal, scored by Admir Mehmedi, leaving the final score a 1:1 draw. This result puts Switzerland in second place in its group with 4 points, behind France with 6 points – France scored a 2:0 win against Albania in its second match.
Switzerland’s next game is against France on Sunday 19 June 2016 at 21:00.
