An exceptional show based on the idea that sharing music and rhythm generates an extraordinary shared experience.
As you come into the theatre, you will find a djembe drum on your seat. Guided by Doug Manuel, the Master of Ceremonies, you play and accompany the twelve musicians and singers on stage. You become a percussionist for an evening of true energy and enjoyment. This is no amateurish show. Sewa Beats is recognised around the world for its professionalism and ability to create an unforgettable shared experience.
The orchestra, which combines traditional African instruments such as djembe drums, the kora, dunduns, and balafons with synthesizers and a saxophone quartet, carries the audience along, making hearts beat in unison. This is an impressive show by virtuosos. Doug creates a wonderful fusion between the African musicians and the audience. It really is fascinating, full of surprises and of emotion. This is a brilliant experience and an ideal evening out for groups and families. Suitable for children over 10.
After 54 concerts in Paris last summer, “Do You Speak Djembé?” will be back in Geneva at the Theâtre Léman on 9 December at 20h30. Tickets on sales on www.fnac.ch or www.starticket.ch Le News has a few free tickets for readers – email: competitions@lenews.ch
