The Geneva International Motor Show ended this evening. Compared to 2017, the number of visitors was down. Putting a positive spin on the decline, the organizer pointed out that fewer people and more space in the car park made visiting a better experience.
The number of attendees in 2018 was down by 4.5% to 660,000, according to the organizer. In 2017, 690,000 turned up.
“We are very satisfied with this result given the flat economic climate and the often hostile politics and media attitude towards the car” said Maurice Turrettini, president of the show.
80% of attendees were aged between 19 and 64 and 30% between 15 and 29. Around 330,000 visitors (50%) came from outside Switzerland.

The next show takes place from 7 to 17 March 2019.
