Summer temperatures are set to continue in Switzerland. Today the temperature in Locarno in Ticino reached 30 degrees. Roger Perret from Meteonews said “It is extraordinarily hot for this time of the year.”
Summer weather conditions look set to prevail across nearly all of Switzerland for most of next week.
Meteonews, Meteoblue and Meteo Swiss all predict summer temperatures until next Thursday when they are expected to drop quite steeply. According to Meteoblue temperatures in Geneva will drop down to a high of 17 degrees. On Thursday in Zurich, the temperature is expected to slide to a high of 16 degrees. Even Locarno, south of the Alps will see temperatures slide to a high of 19 degrees after Wednesday, according to Meteoblue.
Some will be hoping it cools down enough at some point to give the snow a chance this coming winter. Today’s 6.7 degree peak 3,580 metres up on the Jungfraujoch in the Swiss Alps might have many wondering.
