The fashion called “sagging” involves wearing your pants below your underpants to reveal their brand name. Made popular by American rappers in the 90s it is now invading Swiss public baths. People are swimming with their underpants under their swimming trunks and this unhygienic practice means swimming pools are being used to wash underpants adding bacteria to the water.
In Vaud the rules prohibit the practice however young people don’t seem to care. Some clothing manufacturers make swimming shorts that simulate the “look” making it difficult for pool staff to spot the rule breakers.
