Solar impulse is on its way across the Pacific Ocean. It left Nagoya in Japan bound for Hawaii and has passed the point of no return. If there is a problem with the aircraft from this point the pilot will not be able to land on dry land because there isn’t any. Hawaii is the next piece of land where the 100% solar powered plane can land. It is expected to arrive there on Friday. The pilot André Borschberg is equipped with a parachute and a dingy in case of an emergency.
