Crans-Montana, normally known as a beautiful and chic ski resort, has launched a summer festival with a programme to entertain people of all ages. The festival is aptly named the M4 Culture Festival – mountains, music, museums and more – it will take place between 12 and 26 July, however the main events take place on the 18th and 25th.
Most of the events will be held at the town’s Regent Congress Center. Offering a mix of music, theatre, dance and art, the festival promises an artistic feast set against wonderful Valais scenic backdrops.
The first event (12-27 July) will be a photography exhibition about Switzerland seen through the eyes of Japanese photographers called “Regards croisés”. The musical acts vary from jazz-fusion and tango to classical. The opening act on the night of the 18th will be the ‘Orchestra des jeunes du teatro colon’ from Buenos Aires. Adding a different slant from the norm, the contemporary dance group, Cocoondance, will offer classes and open its rehearsals to the public so giving festival goers a unique opportunity to see dancers train.
Other events offered at the festival include a smartphone photography and illustration contest. The Geneva Brass Quintet will close the festival on the 25. Prices for the festival vary on the different packages offered. To see the full programme including times and locations please visit: www.m4culture.ch
