On Easter Sunday, a world-record 662 Charlie Chaplins of all ages assembled at Chaplin’s World near Vevey to celebrate what would have been the original’s 128th birthday. Charlie Chaplin was born on 16 April 1889.
The short video below shows the look-a-like Charlie Chaplins assembling in star formation for a photo.
And no large gathering on an Easter Sunday would have been complete without an Easter egg hunt…
Charles Chaplin exiled himself to Switzerland in 1953 after the U.S. revoked his re-entry permit to the U.S.. He moved into the grand old mansion Manoir de Ban above Vevey, which now forms part of Chaplin’s World, a museum celebrating the artist’s life, which opened its doors on 16 April 2016 – the organisers love that date!
So where did 662 Charlie Chaplin fans find bowler hats?
