The Tribune de Genève recently posted a 360 degree film of the journey across the city end of Lake Geneva. The camera is fixed to the top of the regular boat that crosses the lake between Eaux-Vives and Pâquis, a journey of around 4 minutes.
This particular trip takes you past Geneva’s iconic jet d’eau (water jet). The boats are known as the Mouettes genevoises, which translates to Geneva seagulls. A similar service was launched in 1825. The current operation is a relaunch of the original service, which started in 2004.
The journey filmed is shown in orange on the map below. Click here for a detailed timetable. A one-way trip costs CHF 2 for adults and CHF 1.80 for kids.
When the sun is out there is no better way to get around Geneva.
